Sarah Emilie is a student and fashion lover. Her style is bold and vibrant and as she states, she’d rather miss a mark than bore herself. We spotted Sarah Emilie on the streets and could not resist asking her for an interview. In the interview, Sarah styles a few of her favorite JoDis shoes.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a self-confessed fashion lover, bookworm, art freak, and coffee-oholic, who studies Information Studies at Copenhagen University.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Truthfully, I’m not a morning person. Although a warm bath and smooth music in my ear always brighten my day. Nothing puts a smile on my face faster than my cat and a cup of coffee. So feeding my funny furball and getting my morning coffee are first on my list.

What do you always have with you when you leave the house?
The short answer is coffee, Spotify, lipstick, and a book. I commute to Copenhagen University and leave my house with coffee in my hand, music in my ear, and an interesting book in the bag for the train ride.

When you have time off, what do you enjoy doing?
I love art, fashion, culture, traveling, food, friends and family, so any combination of those are a hit.

When did you start having an interest in fashion?
I’ve been into fashion for as long as I’ve been able to hold a Vogue magazine.

How would you describe your style?
While some might think “less is more”, I agree with Iris Apfel that “less is a bore”.

What is fashion to you?
To me, fashion is a way of personal expression. I do not care about trends nor do I like looking like everyone else. Strong, bold women like Coco Chanel, Iris Apfel, and Emilie Sindlev embody fashion to me with a unique personal style true to themself.

Where do you seek inspiration when it comes to fashion?
Though I have a weakness for Paris, inspiration can be found everywhere - from Pippilotti Rist’s colorful art expos, fashion week and flea markets.

Do you have any rule of thumb when it comes to creating a good outfit?
If I had any rule of thumb, I would probably be the first to break it. To me style is fun, playfulness and experimentation - and I will rather miss the mark than bore myself.

What is your go-to look?
I don’t have any go-to look, but if in doubt of what to wear, I go for vivid colors.
