Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm 26 years old from Iceland and have been living in Denmark for five years now. I moved to Denmark to study art at Krabbesholm højskole and after that, there was no going back, so I moved to Copenhagen straight after finishing.
I just graduated from KEA in Jewelry design, Technology and Business and am now starting a job at Balenciaga's flagship store. I'm very excited for the upcoming chapter but hopefully, I'll be doing something jewelry-related soon.
I'm addicted to fashion and have been very explorative about my style my whole life. I love taking pictures and styling as well so that is a huge part of what I do in my free time with my friends and I never miss a good sample sale!
What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Get coffee. Then I pick an outfit and walk around and do nothing for like an hour. Next, I start getting ready; put on my makeup and start my day.
What do you always have with you when you leave the house?
Lip Gloss and a good travel perfume. And of course my phone.
When you have time off, what do you enjoy doing?
Nothing better than chilling at home with my roommates and watching serial killer documentaries or something based on a true story (very important).
Else I love taking pictures and creating content with my friends, vintage and second-hand shopping is always good cardio. Now with everything opening up again, I'm excited to go to different events, always the best way to get inspiration.
How would you describe your style?
Oh lord, I have always dressed according to how I feel and I'm constantly mixing it up. I'm very into y2k futurism and everything in between right now and I’m still obsessed with oversized clothing.
What is fashion to you?
Fashion is the best way to express who you are – to me at least. I don't believe in overdressing because it doesn't fit my way of looking at the world.
It [fashion] can be so many things at the same time. It shows us what's currently going on in society as well as who you are as a person. Something that interests me the most is the innovation of fashion, how things always come back in different variations and how it moves in circles.
Has your style always been the same?
No, definitely not, I've always been very experimental. I always make it my mission to go out of my comfort zone and try new things. My favorite thing is to elevate my style and find new inspiration.
Where do you seek inspiration when it comes to fashion?
Usually, I have an idea in my head of what I want and then I go look for those items, and maybe I find something similar – or something completely different. You can always look at Instagram or fashion articles but nothing beats finding inspiration from street style and the people around you.
Do you have any rule of thumb when creating a good outfit?
For me I like to have a coordinated outfit either color or material, I think it can really enhance your look. But when it comes to fashion you should always wear what makes you feel comfortable and happy, it sounds very overplayed but you are expressing who you are at the end of the day, so don’t compromise.
What is your go-to look?
My staples are the sets that I have both from Saks Potts or Rotate. They are very comfortable and easy when I want to throw something on and still look like I put in the effort.
